Making a change in the life of one child at a time – Rotary Club of Lavington Jioni Supporting The New Life Home Trust

On Saturday 12 September, 2020, the members of Rotary Club of Lavington Jioni, led by President Grace Miheso visited The New Life Home Trust in Kilimani (Nairobi) to make a donation towards their recurrent needs. The donation was gladly received by Gladys, a staff of the home, and consisted of diapers,  cotton wool, milk, cooking oil, baby oil, detergent, sanitizer and other cleaning material.  

The New Life Home Trust hosts about 50 children at any given time. The main objective of New Life Home Trust is to Rescue, Care and Place vulnerable children, specifically children who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS, or those that have been abandoned for whatever reason. The children are clustered by age 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6 months – 1Year and 1 -3 Years. The New Life Home Trust aims place all the children by the time they are 3 years old. For the children who are not placed by the time they are 3, they are moved to the New Life satellite homes in Kisumu, Nakuru and Nyeri.  The Kisumu home also caters for special-needs children.
