Dear Rotary Family,

Happy Easter! I hope this message finds you all in good spirits as we celebrate the joy and hope of the season.

April heralds the beginning of the last quarter of our Rotary year and start of our leadership transition period in Rotary. Coming straight on the tail of the recently concluded inaugural Inter District Summit held in Uganda with Rotary Districts 9213 and 9214, we are reminded that though we have covered much ground, we still can achieve even bigger, more impactful projects in our communities.

This month we focus on protecting our common legacy: the environment.

We are committed to supporting activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources, advance ecological sustainability, and foster harmony between communities and the environment. We empower communities to access grants and other resources, embrace local solutions, and spur innovation in an effort to address the causes and reduce the effects of climate change and environmental degradation.

We also want to shine a spotlight on Maternal and Child Health and our commitment to saving mothers and children through our Maternal and Child Health initiatives. From education and immunizations to essential services, Rotary is making a tangible difference in the lives of millions of mothers and children worldwide. A shining example of this impact is the project led by the Rotary Club of Lavington Jioni, which equipped Cana Hospital to provide comprehensive emergency obstetric and newborn care services. Together with the Nairobi County Government and the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), crucial training is being provided to community Health Promoters (CHPs), ensuring that healthcare reaches those who need it most.
