ERADICATING polio through joint projects

In line with the #PolioEndGame and the World Polio Day, RC Ongata Rongai and RC Kikuyu held a polio vaccination and awareness event at Ongata Rongai Hospital where over 900 people attended the event.

Rotarian Joseph Macharia (young generation Director) and Rotarian Dr. Marion Mukira (Rotary Foundation Director) with some of the children who attended the event.

As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Rotary has helped to reduce polio by 99.9% globally and only three countries have recorded cases of polio. However, if all efforts to eradicate polio were to be halted today, over 200,000 children would be paralyzed each year in the next ten years.
