Become a Paul Harris Fellow Through the DG’s Matching Offer
By Caroline Njiru
Rotary District 9212 District Governor (DG) Leonard Ithau recently launched the DG’s PHF Matching Challenge. With the mission of raising an ambitious $1 million for The Rotary Foundation during the 2023-24 year, this initiative complements the recently ongoing Jenga Foundation (https://timeline.rotary9212.org/rotary-district-9212-begins-1-million-fundraising-for-the-rotary-foundation/) campaign by the District.
In a world that often emphasizes individualism, the Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) recognition stands as a testament to the power of collective goodwill. This prestigious acknowledgment is bestowed upon those who contribute, or catalyze contributions, amounting to $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation.
The DG’s PHF Matching Challenge aims to match every donation of $500 made between July 1 and October 31, 2023 and elevate the receipient to Paul Harris Fellow status. The offfer is open to both first time as well as multiple PHF members. This means that each dollar donated effectively becomes two, increasing the impact of larger comunity projects via the Rotary Foundation.
The Rotary Foundation, the charitable arm of Rotary International, has been at the forefront of impactful initiatives since its inception in 1917. With a focus on advancing global understanding, promoting goodwill and peace, improving healthcare and education, addressing environmental concerns, and eradicating poverty, the foundation has channeled over $4 billion into transformative projects.
The DG’s PHF Matching campaign aims to continue this legacy, a testament to the enduring commitment of Rotarians and Rotaractors to create positive, sustainable change. With the promise of matched donations, every contribution becomes a building block for a brighter future across Rotary District 9212 and beyond. All receipients will be recognised at an event to be held in November 2023.
