The Eating Stone Orphan Home Transformation by Rotary Club of KIKUYU
The story of Eating Stone and Rotary club of Kikuyu started in 2017, when Cyprian Lubumba sort the help of Rotary Club of Grand Prairie to build the orphanage, he sort to engage the Rotary Club of Kikuyu in transforming the squalid conditions the children were living in.
“I reflected on where the children came from in 2017 their kitchen, toilet, dormitory, classrooms, and play grounds. Just shared some pictures of what God can do through ordinary people to do extraordinary things.”

The Eating Stone’s inspiring story was narrated to Joe Otin during his visit to Rotary Club of Kikuyu and he was mesmerized by the way the home has transformed from caring for two children in 2006, to a home taking care and educating 350 children from different ethnic backgrounds.
The DG’s Address
In his address, the DG reiterated the need for Rotarians and Rotary Clubs to elevate their game and double their commitment to Rotary Foundation and service to the community. He emphasized the need to recruit more members into our club and cited the new types of clubs as an avenue to enhance District 9212 growth in terms of members.
Honorary Member Henry Wanyoike
The DG also presided over the pinning of RCK’s honorary Member Henry Wanyoike a marathon Paralympic champion of the world.
