Rotary Zones 21 and 22 Announce Inaugural “Power of Goodness” Video Competition

By Caroline Njiru

Rotary Zones 21 and 22 have jointly announced the launch of the inaugural “Power of Goodness” Video Competition, set to celebrate the remarkable service projects conducted by Rotary Clubs within the Seven Areas of Focus. Traditionally, Rotarians have showcased achievements through various competitions centered around other Rotary action areas such as Membership Growth and The Rotary Foundation. This new competition places a spotlight on Public Image, giving clubs the opportunity to highlight their stories of impact on a larger platform.

“Rotary clubs worldwide undertake outstanding projects,” says Sharmila Bhatt, Regional Public Image Coordinator (RPIC) 2024–27. “While we have awards at the zone level for Membership and The Rotary Foundation, there are no awards dedicated to Public Image especially at the Zone institute level. This contest aims to fill that gap and celebrate exceptional storytelling in Rotary.”

Why Now?

Rotary’s global presence continues to grow, and so does the need to effectively communicate its mission, values, and achievements. By focusing on Public Image, Rotary Zones 21 and 22 recognize that impactful storytelling can inspire further community engagement and elevate Rotary’s brand. The competition thereby encourages clubs to share the tangible results of their service initiatives, showcasing how they address areas such as maternal and child health, disease prevention, and community economic development—part of Rotary’s seven areas of focus.
