Rotary District 9212 RESPONSE to the Global Health Crisis
Dear Rotarians,
I pray that you and your loved ones remain safe from the pandemic. Rotarians across the district are asking about a coordinated response from our organization so that we can do what we do best; support communities in times of need.
We have therefore appointed a coordinator who will represent Rotary as a single point of contact with the National Emergency Response Committee in Kenya and other district wide initiatives to support our governments and health administrators.
I am happy to announce that Dr. Joe Kamau, of Rotary Club of Nairobi East, has accepted this role and will be working with Rotarians across the district to initiate a coordinated response. Our aim is to ensure that our actions are in line with the the larger national efforts to limit the spread of the disease and to manage the problems associated with the social and economic effects in its wake.
Dr. Kamau currently serves as the District Membership Chairman, and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Nairobi East and a Past District Conference Chairman. He will work with a team of Rotarians from Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan to orchestrate Rotary’s resources intended to interrupt the spread for COVID-19. Please get in touch with Dr. Kamua on joe.kamau@tecwaysservices.com if you would like to join the team.
Clubs are eager to raise funds to support the national efforts and we are accepting funds into the district account. You may deposit the amounts directly into the account (or in the M-Changa account which will be shared shortly). The district account details are as follows:
