Rotary Club of Mombasa in partnership with The Birds of Paradise Foundation RECOGNIZES Health Care Front-liners
On Saturday 27th June 2020 the Rotary Club of Mombasa in partnership with the Birds of Paradise Foundation held its second “Health Care Front-liners Recognition” at the Coast General Teaching Referal Hospital (CGTRH) Mombasa. The club plans to continue visits to other hospitals in Mombasa to say ‘Asanteni’ to the hospital staff who have dared the Corona-19 virus to selflessly serve the Citizens of Mombasa County.
The function was attended by the Chief Guest Mombasa County Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi, County Minister of Health Hazel Koitaba and County Chief Medical Officer Dr. Khadija Shikely. Representing the CGTRH were Dr. Ochola Deputy CEO, Dr Vaghela, Physician Head of Isolation Unit, Dr Mohamed Sood, Chief Nephrologist and Covid19 Response Team Coordinator and Elizabeth Kivuva, Director of Nursing. Representing Kenya Red Cross was Mombasa Branch Chairman Mahmoud Noor.Representing the Birds Of Paradise Foundation was the Founding Trustee Abdulqadir Aboo.
Representing the Rotary Club of Mombasa were Rotarians President Hanif Parkar, Past District Governors Abdul Samji (doubling as the Mombasa County Chair for Covid-19 Emergency Relief Committee) and Abdulhamid Aboo, Dr Nandu Acharya, Rtn. Gafoor Pasta and Rtn. Bhupinder Birgi from the Organizing Committee besides many other Rotarians and guests.
In recognition of personal sacrifices the ‘REAL MASHUJAAS’ received substantial dry food gift hampers and personalized Certificates of Appreciation. Surely a day to remember for the deserved recipients and for all those present who put their hands together for the frontline stalwarts.
