Rotarians in Ethiopia Turn Out For Honey Harvesting and Tasting

Rotary Ethiopia through the Rotary Fellowship of Urban Gardening (RFUG) hosted a honey harvesting and Tasting event at their community apiary, and the turnout was fantastic.

The event was organized to promote sustainable urban gardening and beekeeping, and it was a great opportunity for people to learn about the importance of bees in our ecosystem. Attendees witnessed the honey harvesting process first hand and tasted the delicious honey produced by the bees in the apiary.

“Their commitment to promoting sustainable urban gardening and beekeeping is truly inspiring, and they are making a positive impact on our environment,’’ The Rotary Ethiopia Country Team said.

Rotary Fellowship of Urban Gardening Chair, Rotarian Getachew Yetelelu, shared his knowledge and expertise on beekeeping and honey production. His insights were invaluable and greatly appreciated by all attendees.

The fellowship firmly believes in the power of community and collaboration. It is through events like these that they are able to come together, learn from one another, and make a positive impact on our environment.

Organizers of the event also included the Fellowship Lead in Ethiopia, Rotarian Henock Alemayehu, who runs existing activity-based fellowships. KOTSA Rotary Community Corps and Timret Lehiwot Ethiopia also played a great role in realizing this initiative, which was documented by Hagerie TV.
