Mary Ndung’u Selected To Support Rotary/UNEP Initiatives
Fellow Rotarians, in my role as Rotary International Representative to United Nations Environment Programme, it gives me great pleasure to introduce Rotarian Mary Ndungu who supports our mandate as Technical Advisor.
Mrs. Ngungu is a member of the Rotary Club of Nairobi Muthaiga North. She is the Deputy Director of Slum Upgrading at the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works in the Government of Kenya. For 24 years, she has been actively engaged in community development matters in housing, economic empowerment, policy formulation and dissemination.
Mary has a Masters Degree in Environmental Planning and Management, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology and Sociology, and Post Graduate Diplomas in Urban Development and Development Theories, and Housing and Urban Development. She is also a Lead Consultant in Environmental Matters with National Environmental Management Authority.
Over the next few weeks I will introduce Mary to the various environment initiatives we have in the district and I request that you afford her all the support that she requires to drive our programmes forward.
Joe is the Immediate Past District Governor of Rotary District 9212 and the Rotary International Representative to UN Environment. He is also the CEO of The Collective, a digital advertising agency, the chairman of the Advertising Standards Board of Kenya, and a board member of WWF-Kenya.
