January Is Rotary’s Vocational Service Month
Happy New Year Rotarians.
A new year comes with great excitement and renewal.
For some, it’s a good season to make New Year resolutions after a well deserved holiday season. As Rotarians, every January, we celebrate and renew our commitment to serve the communities around us through our vocations.
This month is a good time for us as Rotarians to use our professional skills to serve our communities and talk about our vocations during our fellowships. January is a great month to learn about the professions of our fellow Rotarians. We could also help a Rotarian, Rotaractor or Interactor reach a career aspiration, guide and encourage others in their professional development. Helping others reach their career goals is one way of performing vocational service.
Despite the pandemic that has wrecked havoc throughout the world, Rotarians have remained resilient in responding and offering solutions to their communities. The last half-year has been ‘lit’ with stories of lives saved and hope rekindled for communities.
The Timeline shares your story on a global platform and as the editorial team, we are always happy to share the success stories from projects undertaken by your clubs. Rotary clubs are opening new opportunities for others in our communities. No project is too small to share with others because every act of kindness changes lives. Collectively, Rotarians make an impact through acts of generosity from willing hearts in each club.
Send us short articles highlighting your activities in not more than 600 words accompanied by action photos of your clubs projects. Kindly send the articles to our District Bulletin Officer Wanjiku Wairia on wanjiku.wl@gmail.com or ronokaren5@gmail.com
As we dive into the second half of the 2020/21 Rotary year, remember that through Rotary Clubs, we “Open Opportunities” for ourselves and our communities through our vocations!
I wish you open opportunities in the New Year!
Yours In Rotary Service,
