Introducing RAC Hurlingham; the New BABY

Rotaract is an initiative that brings together youth between 18-30 years to develop professional skills, exchange ideas, and serve their communities. It was created as the youth branch of Rotary International, a global network of 1.2 million people dedicated to creating positive, lasting change in their communities.

Guided by the motto, “Service above self,” Rotaract Clubs are nonpartisan and nonsectarian, and seek to “encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprises. In communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to take action through service. From big cities to rural villages, Rotaract is changing communities like yours.

50 years ago, the first Rotaract club was formed to give young adults a place to connect and take action for good. Today, there are 10,904 Rotaract Clubs around the world boasting of 250,792 members. Infact there is a Rotaract club in 184 Countries across the globe, out of the possible 195 countries.

Locally, Rotaract clubs in Kenya meet twice a month (or weekly) to exchange ideas, plan activities and projects, and socialize. While Rotary clubs serve as sponsors, Rotaract clubs decide how to organize and run their club and what projects and activities to carry out.

Kenya is part of Rotary District 9212 together with Ethiopia, Eritrea and South Sudan and currently she has 78 Rotaract clubs spread all over the country with about 2000 members.

And now, we have grown! Introducing the Rotaract Club of Hurlingham!

RC Hurlingham was admitted on 21st October, joining the league of Rotaract clubs in Kenya creating an impact in the community in which they live and serve in.
