Grow and Strengthen our Membership
Dear Rotary and Rotaract Members,
As we step into the month of August, the designated Membership and New Club Development Month in the Rotary calendar, I am excited to address each of you about the importance of this month and the role we all play in growing our vibrant Rotary family.
Membership Month is an opportunity for us to reflect on the essence of Rotary and the impact we make in our communities and the world. It is a time to celebrate our current members’ dedication and to reach out to potential new members who share our commitment to service above self.
Here’s how we can all contribute this month:
- Engage Current Members: Strengthening our current membership is as crucial as adding new members. Let’s ensure every member feels valued, connected, and engaged. Check in with fellow Rotarians, involve them in club activities, and listen to their ideas and concerns.
- Attract New Members: Each of us knows someone who embodies the Rotary spirit but has yet to join. Invite them to a meeting or a service project. Share your personal Rotary story and the impact it has had on your life. Let’s grow our family with individuals who are passionate about making a difference.
- Develop New Clubs: Expanding our reach through new clubs helps us bring Rotary to more communities. If you see an area with potential for a new club, let’s explore it together. New clubs can bring fresh energy, ideas, and service opportunities to our district.
- Celebrate Membership: Take time to recognize and celebrate our members. Highlight achievements, service milestones, and contributions. Acknowledging our members’ efforts fosters a sense of pride and belonging.
Additionally, let’s support the District Membership Team on the various activities they will be highlighting for our action.
Remember, our strength lies in our diversity and unity. By growing and strengthening our membership, we amplify our ability to make positive changes locally and globally. Let’s embrace this Membership Month with enthusiasm and commitment, ensuring Rotary continues to thrive and inspire.
Thank you for your dedication and service.
Warm regards,
Dr. Joe Kamau
District Governor
