Education: Laying the foundation
Happy New Month Family of Rotary.
As we embark on September, a month dedicated to basic education in Rotary, I am moved by the passion and commitment demonstrated by our Rotarians in supporting this vital cause. The adage, “Educating a person is solving most of a community’s problems,” resonates deeply with me as I witness the transformative power of education firsthand.
Rotary District 9212 has been at the forefront of implementing innovative projects aimed at equipping young people with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. By investing in the education of our youth, we are not only building a brighter future for individuals but also laying the foundation for a more prosperous and equitable society.
In today’s digital age, digital literacy has become an essential skill. Rotary has taken the lead in implementing programs that equip young people with the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate the digital world. By empowering our youth with digital literacy, we are preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of this century.
Furthermore, the connection between education and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) cannot be overstated. A clean and healthy learning environment is crucial for students to concentrate and achieve their full potential. Rotary’s WASH projects in schools have made a significant impact by providing access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education.
I am particularly moved by the dedication of our Rotarians who have chosen basic education as their area of focus. Your commitment to empowering the next generation is truly inspiring. Together, we can create a brighter future for our communities by ensuring that every child has access to quality education.
As we continue to support basic education in our district, let us remember the profound impact that our initiatives can have. By working together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of countless young people and build a more equitable and prosperous society.
Yours in Service,
DG Dr. Joe Kamau.
