Coast Region Rotary, Rotaract Clubs Hold Medical Camp To Mark World Polio Day

By Pauline Awuor

Rotary Coast Clubs at the Kenyan coast came together to mark End Polio Month with a powerful awareness campaign and a free medical camp at Mwakirunge Primary School.

With 16 Rotary and Rotaract clubs collaborating, the volunteers provided essential services including free primary healthcare, dental check-ups, cancer screening, polio immunization, eye checkups, and nutrition consultations—all at no cost to the community.

To spread the word, the clubs organized a caravan through the community, spreading awareness and inviting people to come for check-ups and the care they needed.

Partners who supported the event include International Medical Aid, the County Government of Mombasa, Mwakirunge Dispensary, Elite Mtwapa School, North Coast Medical Training College and Vivid Medical Centre Ltd. With over 500 beneficiaries, this impactful day stands as a testament to what we can achieve together.
