One Membership

Leonard Ithau

Dear Rotary Family,

As we step into the month of August, we shift our focus to one of the most critical aspects of Rotary – Membership and Club Extension. Our members are the backbone of our organization, and without growth, we cannot fully deliver on our ultimate mission of uniting the peoples of the world. This month, let us purposefully examine the experiences we provide through our club memberships and ensure that we deliver on our promise of fellowship, friendship, and the opportunity to serve.

Our strength lies in our numbers, and as of now, we have 140 clubs and 4000 members in our district. While these numbers are significant, we must strive to expand our reach and attract more passionate individuals who resonate with Rotary’s values and goals. By reaching out to our friends, neighbors, and colleagues, we can showcase the impact we create through our projects and the rewarding experiences we offer through friendship and fellowship.

Being part of Rotary means being part of a world-class organization with over 118 years of history. We have continuously refined and improved our approach to delivering sustainable projects to communities. Let us emphasize this aspect while inviting potential members to join us. We want them to feel that by becoming Rotarians, they are joining an organization with a rich legacy of making positive changes in the world.

As we work together to increase our membership, we must also focus on delivering more impactful projects to our communities. By collaborating coherently, we can amplify our efforts and create a greater difference in the lives of those in need. Let us expand our networks of friendship and business to make our Rotary world more enjoyable, fulfilling, and true to our commitment of serving communities.

Moreover, this month, we have set ourselves an ambitious goal to raise $1 million for the Rotary Foundation using the Jenga Foundation portal. Our dedication to eradicating polio remains strong, and by contributing generously, we can continue our fight against this devastating disease. Let us unite as one and support this noble cause.

Additionally, I urge all of you to register for the Magical Watamu District conference on https://dca2024.rotary9212.org/. It promises to be an unforgettable event where we can come together, learn, celebrate our accomplishments, and inspire each other to create an even brighter future.

Lastly, let’s remember the power of storytelling. We all have Rotary stories to share – stories of the impact we’ve made, the lives we’ve touched, and the hope we’ve brought to the world. Let us take up the “We Are One Dance” challenge, using the language of dance to express the unity and joy that Rotary brings to our lives.

In conclusion, August is a month of reflection, action, and celebration. Let’s work diligently to increase our membership, deliver more impactful projects, raise funds for the Rotary Foundation, and share our Rotary stories. Together, we can create a stronger, more united Rotary that continues to spread hope and make a lasting difference in the world.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment and dedication to Rotary.
