“Ye live not for yourselves; ye cannot live for yourselves ; a thousand fibres connect you with your fellow-men, and along those fibres, as along sympathetic threads, run your actions as causes, and return to you as effects.”.” – Henry Melvill

Dear Rotarians and Friends,

As the year comes to a close, December invites us to reflect on the power of giving, the joy of community, and the importance of healing. Fittingly, December is Rotary’s Disease Prevention and Treatment Month—a time to highlight Rotary’s efforts to combat illnesses and improve health outcomes worldwide. It is also the Christmas season, a period that reminds us of the transformative power of generosity and kindness.

Rotary’s commitment to disease prevention and treatment is evident through programs like the Rotary Family Health Days (RFHD). These impactful medical camps have touched countless lives by offering free healthcare services to those in need around the world. From polio eradication to ensuring access to quality healthcare, Rotary’s work saves lives and creates a ripple effect of hope in our communities.

In this spirit, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming RFHD medical camps that will coincide with the historic visit of Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick to Kenya 🇰🇪 from January 12th to 15th, 2025 as part of our 100 Years of Service in Africa celebrations! Her visit is a monumental moment for District 9212, and her itinerary includes:

January 13th: Supporting the three-day RFHD medical camp at Pumwani Maternity Hospital, which is our centennial project venue. There will be additional RFHD regional medical camps in Siaya, Kiambi, Narok, Embu and Nyeri counties, Kenya. Thereafter the RI president will meet with District 9212 Rotaractors at the University of Nairobi at 5 PM to empower the next generation of leaders.

January 14th: Attending the District Foundation Dinner at the Argyle Hotel, where we will honour Rotary Foundation donors whose generosity is driving impactful change.

This December, as we prepare to welcome President Stephanie and celebrate the holiday season, let us embrace the spirit of giving. Together, we can continue the work of Rotary—providing medical care, preventing diseases, and creating a healthier future for all.

We also encourage every Rotarian to participate in and support our RFHD initiatives, spreading health, hope, and happiness to those who need it most.
