SPREADING the Christmas spirit by RC Lavington Jioni
The Rotary Club of Lavington Jioni (RCLJ) celebrated an early Christmas with Cheryl’s Children Home on the 23rd November 2019. The Christmas party offered an opportunity to celebrate the fruitful relationship between RCLJ and Cheryl’s over the past year. It also doubled up as a celebration of their good performance in the 2019 KCPE examinations.
Club members braved a cold rainy morning and headed to Cheryl’s Home to share the Christmas spirit with the children. Food was in plenty as they prepared and cooked local delicacies like beef, chapati and chicken that were enjoyed by all the children.
There was fanfare as over 200 children from Cheryl’s home and the neighbourhood enjoyed themselves with music, games and bouncing castles.
RCLJ crowned the fun event with a Christmas cake and with all the children receiving a well-deserved gift.
