NHIF Medical Cover Sensitization Drive Launch For Kitengela RESIDENTS

The Rotary Club of Kitengela has launched a public sensitization drive on the NHIF medical Cover for its local residents. The new drive is in support of Kajiado County Government’s Mbuzi Moja Afya Bora Initiative spearheaded by Governor Joseph Ole Lenku. The Rotarians were led by their President Lucy Munga and Public Relations Director Daniel Kanchori. The Day One Rotary drive has managed to recruit 50 families with the Rotarians promising to sponsor some of the most vulnerable people in Kitengela and Oloosirkon/Sholinke Wards.

The Mbuzi Moja Afya Bora initiative is a concept that allows local residents to offer one goat for sale in a public auction. The proceeds are deposited with NHIF for a family’s medical insurance for one year. This year’s goat auction will be held on November 28 at Kajiado Demonstration Farm. The goats are being registered at Ward Administrators offices. Those without goats give Sh 3,000 in cash and the County Government tops up the balance to cater for the families’ one year medical cover. Ms Munga has said they support the NHIF drive because it has so far cushioned many families from high hospital Bill’s, reducing significantly medical fund raising. Those with NHIF covers have an easy time as it covers many illnesses. We encourage Rotary family and friends to take advantage of the County Government’s subsidized sponsorship by supporting a family by depositing kes 3,000 to:
