Kiria Pupils Brighten Up As Rotary Club of Embu Embark on Providing a Conducive Learning Environment

Kiria primary school is a public school in the semi-arid area of Embu County.  The school was started more than about 20 years ago by the community with an aim to serve the pupils who would walk more than 10km daily to the nearest school. Rotary Club of Embu first visited Kiria Primary for a tree planting exercise and were challenged by the state of the classrooms. Immediately they embarked on a journey to upgrade the mud walled classrooms.

The Rotary Club of Deeside, Aberdeen Scotland  will be partnering with Rotary Club of Embu in the project which was represented in a planning committee by Rtn. Moyra. Other representatives present included Kiria primary school management and Rotary club of Embu president and past presidents Peter, Nelly and Ruth. Together they look forward to giving the learner’s of Kiria Primary a more conducive learning environment.
