The Rotary Club of Lavington Jioni (RCLJ) had the pleasure of hosting the esteemed District Governor Joe Otin, for his first club visit on 20th November 2019. The evening began with the DG attending the board meeting accompanied by Rotary Club of Lavington President Wairimu Njagi and AG Peter Kuria.
The board members had an engaging session with the visiting team. They presented the highlights of each department since the charter in November 2018. The AG and DG shared useful tips to propel the club to greater heights. This included the value of vibrant committees in membership engagement. They emphasized how club diversity should be deliberate and done strategically during recruitment. The DG highlighted the merits of participation in the Rotary Foundation and showed how opportunities were available for global partnerships.
The Club Assembly was held thereafter with the the induction of 7 new members. These came from diverse classifications including Law, Administration, Events and Photography, ICT, Marketing, Engineering, Mental Health and Development Consulting.
